Fall Is In The Air!!

Fall is coming. The days are getting shorter and cooler. I love this time of the year! Here little mouse is collecting acorns for the coming winter. Maybe just one more will fit into his tiny wheelbarrow. The acorns are needle felted wool roving. They are pincushions. Well....maybe not the one he is holding.
Above: His sweater is made from a recycled cashmere sweater. My sweet sister sent me some scraps of wool a while back and I have enjoyed using them.

Above: See the tufts of grass on the ground? The tufts are made from wool. There is some sandpaper that represents dirt. Tiny little rocks are glued in place on the "dirt".

Above: In these pictures I was experimenting on lighting and focus.

Above: Wool bird with real feather. His feet and legs are made from vintage pipe cleaners. The little pumpkin is hand sculpted and painted. The party hat is made out of an page of an old book. Black crepe paper fringe is around the lid of the oval box.
Closer look.
Hope you enjoyed looking at my newest creations. Thank you for visiting.
Have a wonderful day,
Holly

  1. Oh Holly! Not only is this such a precious piece of art, but I just love your snowman bag. This is inspiring me to think about making an advent pocket a day. Funny, I DID remember to order lots of white felt; so I good to go! Sigh, you inspire me greatly! Elizabeth

    1. Hey Elizabeth, the snowman bag was a fun quick project. I think that an advent pocket a day sounds like so much fun! I can't believe that I only ordered one sheet of white. Guess another order to joggles is in my future ;) Happy crafting! Holly

    1. Hey Tammy, thank you so much for the sweet comment. I love to sew, but I must confess not everything turns out like it is suppose too. The little blackbird looked more like a tiny elf football when I first started but lots of tweaking later, I finally had a winner. Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I love yours! Happy crafting, holly

    1. Hey Diane,
Thank you so much for the sweet comments! I will definately have to get down to Target. I love acorns! I have to freeze the ones that come out of our yard because little tiny worms live in them, found that out one year :(
      Have a great day! Holly
